Coburg Road Corridor Alternatives - MovingAhead

Coburg Road Corridor Alternatives

The alternatives for the the Coburg Road Corridor are:

  1. Enhanced Corridor Alternative: Enhanced Corridors are new to Eugene.  The Enhanced Corridor Alternative would include more frequent bus service, fewer bus stops, bus stops with more amenities, and roadway improvements to make bus trips faster and more reliable.  The Enhanced Corridor Alternative would also include improvements to make it safer and more convenient to access bus service for people biking, walking, and using mobility devices.
  2. EmX Alternative: The EmX Alternative would include a variety of improvements to make bus trips faster and more reliable, including lanes used only by buses and lanes used by buses and turning vehicles.  In some places, buses would operate in lanes with other vehicles.  EmX buses would only stop at EmX stations which are spaced farther apart than regular bus stops and include more amenities.  The EmX Alternative would also include improvements to make it safer and more convenient to access bus service for people biking, walking, and using mobility devices.
  3. No Build Alternative: The No Build Alternative would only include those improvements already planned and programmed.

The graphics below show the Enhanced Corridor and EmX Alternatives.  Improvements for people walking, biking and using mobility devices are shown separately for each alternative. After you’ve explored the graphics, please let us know what you think about the corridor alternatives. We will use this feedback to develop a more detailed study of the costs, benefits, and impacts of each alternative. Additional input will be gathered from the public before a preferred alternative is selected for each corridor.
